Marketing Director

Full-Time W-2 Position | Houston, TX/Remote | Competitive Salary + Equity Upside

About You

You’re the marketing leader who actually gets Russell Brunson’s funnel obsession and thinks Alex Hormozi’s offer creation is pure genius. You don’t just run campaigns – you architect systems that work while you sleep. You’ve been the “marketing person” at a company before, which means you know the difference between being busy and driving revenue.

You probably have strong opinions about attribution models, get unreasonably excited about conversion rate improvements, and think a well-crafted email sequence is basically art. You’ve built funnels that consistently convert, managed ad budgets that actually ROI, and created marketing systems that didn’t fall apart the moment you went on vacation.

You love the balance of brand marketing and direct-response and get how they both play a role in a companies long term success.

Most importantly: You’re tired of being the “marketing execution person” and ready to be the “marketing strategy and growth owner.” You want to build something meaningful, work with a team that doesn’t take themselves too seriously, and have real impact on a business that’s scaling fast.

Bonus points if:

  • You think a perfectly optimized landing page is better than most Netflix shows
  • You’ve ever said “but what does the data say?” in a meeting (and know why “it depends” is the answer to all marketing questions)
  • You understand why we’re obsessed with helping brick-and-mortar retailers succeed online
  • You have a ridiculous GIF game for our company slack
  • You have a favorite marketing book you’ve read more than once

About Us

We’re Capital Commerce, and we’re not your typical “we help everyone with everything” agency. We have one focus: helping successful brick-and-mortar retailers ($1M+ revenue) translate their in-store success into online sales without losing what makes them special in-store.

While other agencies are throwing spaghetti at the wall with generic strategies, we’ve cracked the code on retail-to-online transformation. Our 12-week Momentum program doesn’t just build websites – it creates integrated growth engines that feel like natural extensions of their physical stores.

Why this matters: When we succeed, independent retailers hire more people, serve more customers, and keep small towns thriving. It’s marketing with actual meaning behind it.

Our culture: We work hard, celebrate wins, send way too many GIFs, and genuinely care about our clients’ success. We’re growing fast but we’re not jerks about it. We believe in systems over hustle, results over hours, and that the best marketing feels helpful, not salesy.

The real talk: Our founder Josh is brilliant (he tried to delete this but his team put it back) but needs to get out of marketing so he can focus on the big picture stuff. That’s where you come in.

What You’ll Own

The Marketing Growth Engine

You’re not just “running campaigns” – you’re building the marketing machine that drives our entire business. This means:

  • Lead Generation Mastery: Consistently generating 35+ qualified strategy sessions per month through paid ads, webinars, and whatever innovative channels you discover
  • Funnel Architecture: Building evergreen systems that convert strangers into raving fans without constant babysitting
  • Team Leadership: Managing our existing marketing contractors and building out the content/creative team as we scale
  • Strategic Innovation: Finding new ways to reach retail owners who need our help but don’t know we exist yet

The Day-to-Day Reality

  • Morning coffee while reviewing yesterday’s campaign performance (and probably optimizing something)
  • Strategic planning sessions where your ideas actually matter and get implemented
  • Managing a team of specialists who are great at what they do
  • Building systems that work whether you’re in the office or on vacation
  • Weekly wins celebrations (yes, we actually celebrate good work)

What Success Looks Like

  • 90 Days: You own marketing completely, you collaborate with our CEO (Josh) but you don’t need him to move forward.
  • 6 Months: You’re building new acquisition channels and optimizing everything
  • 12 Months: You’re leading a marketing team and contributing to company strategy
  • Beyond: You’re the marketing leader other companies try to recruit (but you’re too happy to leave)

What We Need From You

The Non-Negotiables

  • Proven B2B Lead Generation: You’ve personally generated qualified leads for a service business and can show the numbers
  • Systems Builder: You’ve created marketing processes that worked without your constant involvement
  • Team Leadership: You’ve managed contractors, agencies, or team members successfully
  • Technical Competency: Facebook Ads, Google Ads, email automation, funnel building – you know the tools and when to use them
  • Strategic Thinking: You understand how marketing connects to revenue and business growth

The “We’d Love This Too”

  • Experience with retail, ecommerce, or consumer brands
  • Knowledge of marketing automation platforms (we use several)
  • Understanding of customer journey mapping and lifecycle marketing
  • Familiarity with the Direct Response marketing world (Brunson, Hormozi, Kennedy, etc.)
  • A sense of humor and ability to fit into our slightly irreverent culture

What You Get

The Opportunity

  • Real Ownership: This isn’t a “marketing coordinator with a fancy title” role – you’ll truly own growth
  • Growth Path: We’re scaling fast, which means your role and responsibilities will expand quickly
  • Autonomy: Once you prove you get it, you’ll have real decision-making authority
  • Impact: Your work directly affects independent retailers and their communities

The Practical Stuff

  • Competitive Salary: We pay well for the right person
  • Performance Upside: Bonuses tied to results, not just showing up
  • Benefits: Health insurance support, PTO, mental health reimbursement
  • Location: It’s not essential that you live in Houston (our team is currently remote) but huge bonus points if you live in Houston)
  • Equipment & Tools: Whatever you need to do your best work

The Culture

  • Results-Focused: We care about outcomes, not hours logged
  • Growth-Oriented: We invest in our people’s development
  • Fun: Work should be challenging but enjoyable
  • Meaningful: We’re helping real businesses serve real customers better

How to Apply

If this sounds like the role you’ve been waiting for, here’s what we want to see:

  1. Your Resume: Focus on results you’ve driven, not just jobs you’ve held
  2. Campaign Case Study: One detailed example of a lead generation campaign you owned from strategy to results
  3. Strategic Thinking Sample: Brief thoughts on how you’d approach generating 35+ qualified calls/month for a B2B service company (bonus points for retail-specific ideas)
  4. Culture Fit: A few sentences about why this opportunity excites you and how you’d fit into our team

DON’T apply if:

  • You’re looking for a “marketing coordinator” role with a fancy title
  • You need constant direction and approval for routine decisions
  • You’re not comfortable with ambitious growth targets
  • You don’t like working in-person with a team

DO apply if:

  • You’re ready to own something big and meaningful
  • You get excited about building systems that scale
  • You want to work with a team that celebrates wins and supports each other
  • You’re tired of companies that talk about culture but don’t actually have one
